# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The contrast between the crispy rice cake exterior and the gooey cheese middle creates a texture experience that store-bought snacks simply cant match.
  • These stacks come together in minutes with pantry staples, saving countless last-minute dinner parties when I realized I had nothing to serve with drinks.
02 -
  • Letting the stacks cool for about 2 minutes before serving prevents the dreaded cheese-burn-on-roof-of-mouth situation that ruins the entire experience.
  • Storing leftover rice cakes in an airtight container with parchment between layers keeps them from absorbing moisture and going soft overnight.
03 -
  • Grating your own cheese instead of using pre-shredded makes a noticeable difference in how evenly it melts—the anti-caking agents in packaged shredded cheese can prevent that perfect melt.
  • For an extra crispy exterior, switch your oven to broil for the final minute of cooking but dont walk away—theyll go from perfect to burnt faster than you can check your phone.
